Records debits and credits accrued by a cabinetmaker, primarily for making furniture and purchasing related supplies from 1767 to 1777. The accounts indicate that the cabinetmaker was also a turner and chairmaker. Forms produced include chairs, tables, bedsteads, dining tables, key chests, tea tables, corner tables, glass and picture frames, cradles, book cases, and clock cases. The woods used were cherry, walnut, maple, and pine. Many prominent Virginia families are represented in the volume including James Madison, Sr., Willis Haston, and several members of the Talioferro family. The keeper of this volume also had dealings with Thomas Walker, a clockmaker, and wages to William Walker. The volume also features a sketch of a clock case with dimensions.
